ZARA. Introducing mobile labels printing solution

Description of the case The situation when it is urgently necessary to change prices for goods, to print and re-stick labels and bar-codes is familiar to managers of any trade network. Employees of shops ZARA in similar cases had to spend a great deal of time and efforts in constant running to stationary printers of labels, which reduced efficiency of their work. In this connection there was a necessity for the solution that would be mobile and close to the chosen goods or group of the goods.  

Purposes and tasks The task set before the IT department was to find and implement mobile solution allowing to make goods marks without leaving workplace. 

Choice of the optimal solution After studying various variants, mobile solution developed and offered by company PILOT has been chosen – business solutions for trade. 

Description of the solution Mobile printing of labels was realised with the help of mobile application Omnilink, the solution developed by PILOT and which was well-proven in the market of terminals and data gathering Motorola MC3090 and Motorola MC70. As the printer of the mobile press it is used ZebraQL320 +. The decision works in wireless WI-FI environment that provides mobility of the personnel, communication with system back-office and work possibility in any point of a warehouse of production and a trading hall. 

Functionality of the decision

• Preselling preparation of the goods. The printing of initial price lists and labels.
• The control of the prices. Goods revaluation in a hall, the mobile printing of labels by means of terminals of data gathering and the mobile printer of labels, replacement of the spoilt price lists and labels.
• The printing of missing price lists during shop work.

Results of introduction: Introduction has passed successfully and in the set terms.
